Project

Natural Shell Ornament with Pearl

Created By: Johnny Miller

Introduction

Channeling childhood summers on Cape Cod, crafts director Hannah Milman created a from-the-sea tree. Shells, sea stars, and sand dollars are dusted with glitter -- a single color, or two shades blended for an ombre effect -- or simply left as is.

Materials

  • Pair of scallop shells
  • Metallic cord
  • Hot-glue gun
  • Pearl bead

Steps

  1. Step 1

Separate a pair of shells. With metallic cord, make a knotted loop; hot-glue knot inside 1 shell half.

  2. Step 2

Hot-glue halves together. Slip pearl bead over loop; secure with a dot of glue.
