Plant the spring-flowering bulbs (relatives of ornamental onions) in the fall in well-drained soil where they'll get full sun. They will come back every year -- and often even multiply. Indoors, gather stems of different lengths in a tall vessel; they'll stand as loftily as they do in the garden.
