Coquina-Shell Necklace

Introduction

Learn more about the Shell Artists who participated in the 70th-anniversary shell-fair contest on Florida's Sanibel Island.

Materials

  • Coquina shells
  • Braided fishing line
  • Cotton

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Glue the shell halves together.

  2. Step 2

    Run the fishing line through each whole shell. Use a tiny piece of cotton in the center of the shells to hold them in place.

    I would like to see the shell necklace. The video shows a shell wreath but not the necklace. Did anyone make the necklace? Do you have to use tiny pairs of shells?
