Playing-Card Wrapper

Introduction

Send your bridge club or your poker buddies a token that's apropos of the holiday. Pick up a few decks of red-backed playing cards, available at many drugstores, or search around for more unusual vintage cards. Then wrap each set in decorative paper printed with rules for the game of hearts.

Materials

  • Hearts rules clip cart
  • 8 1/2-by-11-inch paper
  • Cutting mat
  • Craft knife or scissors
  • Deck of cards
  • Tape
  • Ribbon or twine

Steps

  1. Step 1

Print the clip art onto the plain side of a sheet of decorative paper. To print the wrapper clip art, you'll need 8 1/2-by-11-inch paper; ours is patterned on 1 side. The clip art contains 2 copies of the rules. Each copy will cover a single deck of cards.

  2. Step 2

Place the decorative paper on a cutting mat, and use a craft knife or scissors to cut clip art in half, separating the 2 sets of rules.

  3. Step 3

Lay the clip art on a flat surface, printed side up, and set a deck of cards in the middle. Wrap the paper around cards, secure with tape, and tie with a ribbon or twine.
