The Old Cuban
This recipe comes from Allen Katz, host of "The Cocktail Hour" on Martha Stewart Living Radio.
- 1 1/2 ounces Cruzan single barrel estate rum
- 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
- 1 pint simple syrup
- 6 fresh mint leaves
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 2 ounces Champagne
Muddle mint with lime juice and simple syrup in a mixing glass. Add rum and bitters and shake over ice. Strain into a cocktail glass or coupe and top with Champagne.
