Rendered bacon fat, or butter or olive oil (about 2 tablespoons)

  • 3 red bliss potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  1. Heat rendered bacon fat in same skillet over medium heat; add potatoes, onion, and salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are browned and cooked through, about 12 minutes. Serve hot.
