Tutti Frutti: It's the Sweetest Birthday Party Ever

Watermelons, lemons, oranges, oh my! Invite your closest cutie-patooties for a colorful, fun celebration of sweets and treats of all kinds including juicy fruit.

Orange You Glad to be Invited?

(Hey, fruity puns equal fun, right?) Mail out these invitations to get everyone in a happy mood: bright, bold, and colorful. These custom paper invitations by Sweet Dani B are illustrated with cartoonish, googly-eyed fruit characters, and offer a sweet sneak peek of what's to come — they're brought to life later as sugar cookies served at the party.

Or send them out with a single-click, digital style. Paper goods at the party such as the placecards can be printed in the same font and style. And don't forget the smaller details: the drink stirrers from California Lustre are fruit motifs. And that sprinkle of Confetti Bar confetti? Totally fruit-scented.

The Pear-fect Presentation

Time to turn up the music ("Tutti Frutti" by Little Richard seems fitting) and get the party started! This table was set with clean lines, lots of color, and a playful attitude in mind: a white tablecloth provides a blank canvas for bright midcentury modern dinnerware. Everything is cohesive in a fruity color palette and nothing is too matchy-matchy. Small bowls of fruity candy — like watermelon gumballs — are dispersed among the place settings. Each place setting comes with a mason jar cup and a matching party cone hat. And the centerpiece designed by Michelle Bablo is an interlocking three-dimensional puzzle of fruit-like slices and wedges.

Sweet Sippin'

Pick a fruit, any fruit: watermelon, lemon, cherry fruit, or berry. These mason jars from Michelle Bablo — made to mix and match — were turned into lidded cups that double as take-home party favors. Guaranteed to be a hit with grownups and kids alike!

You're One in a Melon

Frozen melon scoops take the place of ice cubes in this rum-spiked fruit punch, adding pops of both color and sweetness. Hosting kids at the party? Skip the rum altogether.

A Day to Cherry-ish

This dessert bar lays out a buffet of fruit-themed sweets including fruit character sugar cookies, berry-topped cupcakes, a pair of pineapples scooped out with fruit balls, and a watermelon "cake." The birthday cake itself is a four-tiered custom creation by Sugar Monster Sweets. The color-bursting backdrop by Michelle Bablo is a rainbow arch of party balloons — hundreds of them, with some shaped like kiwis, star fuit, and purple passion fruit — and larger-than-life fruit shapes that double as party photo props.

An A-Peeling Cake

This custom tutti-frutti cake by Sugar Monster Sweets is a showstopping treat. Tier after tier is decked out with fruity details: watermelon seeds, citrus slices, and a leafy pineapple topper.

If You Were a Fruit...

... you'd be a fine-apple. (Bet you saw that one coming, huh?) Remember the fruity characters from the invitations? They're seen again here as custom sugar cookies, courtesy of Sweet Dani B in her signature playful designs.

Berry Cute

Aren't they? These cupcakes, courtesy of Sugar Monster Sweets, are topped with edible gold cherries, fruit wedges, and pretty sprinkles, and colored in pastel hues.

Grape-ful for You

The sweetness lasts long after the party. Package leftover cookies, candy, and other treats from the dessert bar into cellophane bags. Tie them with twine and add a "thank you" gift tag.
