Ramadan Drummer Treat Bags

Children and adults alike will love opening these festive bags on Eid — each one is filled with tiny treats including coins, candy, and individually-wrapped chocolates.

Introduction

This idea comes from our friend Manal Aman of Hello Holy Days. The Ramadan drummer is a cross-cultural tradition in which a man or woman wearing traditional clothes will perform through the neighborhood with a drum in hand, playing music and singing verses of poetry in order to wake people up, encourage them to eat, and keep the fast. Learn more about the tradition of the Ramadan drummer. If desired, transfer images on both sides of the bag (put the drummer on the front of the bag, the drum on the back; or the drummer on the front, and the stars on the back.)

steps

  1. Download and print clip-art onto image transfer paper.

  2. Cut clip-art for drummer and drum as close as possible to the artwork. For the star template, cut around the square border (rather than cutting the stars individually) ensuring to cut past black outline, otherwise you’ll have a black border imprint on your bags.

  3. Iron clip-art onto bags per directions on image transfer paper package.
