✨🌜I've been previously asked if I make my own molds for these crystals and sadly the answer is no I do not. I have the materials and tools needed I just haven't come around it. But I'm going to make it a goal for the next month or two to start creating my own. At that point the possibilities would be endless. Also, in my opinion, constant reinvention is necessary. Here is a photo by @magick_alchemy of these beauties, #EncapsulatedCrystals. I make cluster resin crystals that imitate the organic shape and cut of #crystalpoints. They make a perfect pendant for any necklace. Check out @magick_alchemy to see what she creates with this alluring bunch.🌛✨ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ #ResinArt #ResinCrystal #Handcrafted #CrystalDecor #HomeDecor #Esty #EtsySeller #EtsyShop #NewWave #AvantGarde #Experimental #Magical #Witchy #Bohemain #Botanical #HomeDecor #FlowerChild #Moonchild #Boho #Hippie #HippieVibes #NewAge #GoodVibes #PhotoOfTheDay #Handmade
[DIY: Here's a Pretty New Way to Preserve Flowers — in a Light Bulb]
When we think of crystals, we think of them growing inside of deep caves — glimmering, expensive and unattainable. However, we recently discovered some beautiful flower encapsulated crystals and could not get over how delicate and unique they are. And the best part? They're homemade and anyone can make them. Shanna, the creator of these encapsulated crystals, uses her Etsy store, Solaras Garden, as a platform to sell them; but it was on her Instagram where we were able to gain some insight on how exactly they are made. Taken in this photo by @magick_alchemy, the crystals are made from resin that is placed in a mold, along with real flowers that have been dried and preserved. In fact, by encapsulating the flower, they will retain their shape and color for longer. While Shanna does not create her own molds, it is possible to do so. However, she herself uses cluster resin crystal molds, in order to imitate the organic shape and cut of crystal points.
So there you have it! Crystals can be beautiful vessels for preserving foraged flowers, leaves, and other natural materials. This spring, experiment and make your very own!
Feeling inspired? With spring around the corner, why not make your very own floral-inspired decoupaged trays?
