St. Patrick's Day Surprise Balls

For a fun St. Paddy's Day treat, skip the dyed-green milk and instead give the kids surprise balls filled with good-luck charms. They'll love unwrapping them as much as the toys they find inside!

materials

  • Adhesive paper
  • Scissors
  • Trinkets and charms

steps

  1. Print clip-art labels onto 8.5-by-11-inch adhesive paper and cut around the circles.

  2. Scrunch crepe paper into a Ping-Pong-size ball, then place the end of a crepe-paper roll on the ball and wind the paper around it.

  3. As you go, add in trinkets so each is trapped between the layers, switching colors for an extra surprise (cut the first color and wrap over it with a second hue).

  4. Once the ball has reached softball size, finish with a charm label printed on adhesive paper and give it to the lucky recipient.
