Gardening is a fun pastime, but it's not always so enjoyable when you're constantly battling to keep weeds in check. Luckily, the inventors at Franklin Robotics are solving this problem — they've created a smart robot weeder that lives in your garden and fights against unwanted plants!
The robot, called Tertill, is a solar-powered, waterproof, weed-fighting machine. The cute little invention lives in your garden (no need to bring it in to charge or escape bad weather), and it's programmed to patrol your garden, cutting down weeds as it goes. The Tertill weeder is still a prototype, but its potential is huge. Franklin Robotics CEO Rory MacKean says they'll be running a crowdfunding campaign in 2017, so keep your eyes peeled if you're ready to cross weeding off your to-do list for good!

As of July 12, 2017, Tertill's Kickstarter campaign has raised enough money to begin production! With over 600 backers, the Franklin Robotics team now plans on launching the solor-powered gardening bot for shipment starting in the spring of 2018.
