Something Very Sweet
First, we started with a sweet treat, these miniature cakes from Lael Cakes. These pretty little cakes (which are vegan and gluten free) make for a wonderful take-home treat for your best buds, especially when you add a few simple decorations.

To make a sweet treat even sweeter, we added flowers. Flowers go hand-in-hand with Valentine's Day, we decided to use the real thing to dress up the cakes. Just a few small buds and maybe a sprig of greenery or two as a garnish creates a beautiful and easy presentation. We fell head-over-heels for a citrus and pink color palette for our blooms inspired by floral artist Nicolette Camille. The combination of the pale and soft pink tones with subtle pops of oranges and yellows created the ideal setting.

For an extra special touch, we added velvet trim to the boxes we packaged the cakes in. The trim added a playful element to the table before guests took them home. We are really crushing on these mini cakes right now!

It's a Wrap
Once each cake is decorated, simply place it inside its box and wrap the box with a piece of velvet ribbon, going once around horizontally. Then it off with a bow, thread a stem straight through the bow for an added festive touch. You'll be sending your friends off with something just as lovely and sweet as they are.
