Best Baked Potatoes

Hitting the potatoes with your hand before slicing them open creates a fluffy interior.

  • 6 russet potatoes (about 3 pounds), scrubbed and dried


  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Using a fork, pierce potatoes all over. Place in the oven directly on rack, and bake until fork-tender, 50 to 60 minutes. Remove from oven. Place on a clean surface, and hit potatoes with your hand. Slice potatoes open, and serve.
