Sweet and Spicy Dipping Sauce

Mix bottled condiments -- like chili sauce -- with rice vinegar to create sauces for store-bought frozen dumplings. Serve with edamame (Japanese for "green soybeans"), also found in the freezer section.

  • Yield: Makes 1 cup

  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons seasoned rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili sauce
  • 1 piece (about 1 inch) fresh ginger, peeled and finely julienned


  1. In a small bowl, mix together all ingredients. Serve on the side with steamed dumplings. Refrigerate sauce in an airtight container up to 4 days.
