Edamame

These soybeans are simply boiled, seasoned with coarse salt, and eaten straight from the pod.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons coarse salt, plus more for cooking water
  • 2 pounds fresh soybeans in pods

Directions

  1. Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil. Drop the soybeans into water, and cook until tender, about 9 minutes.

  2. Drain in a colander, transfer to a serving dish, sprinkle with salt, and serve warm.
