Sweet and Sour Dipping Sauce for Summer Rolls

Make this sauce to accompany our Vietnamese Summer Rolls.

  • Yield: Makes about 1/2 cup

  • 1 teaspoon crushed red-pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup Asian fish sauce (such as nam pla)


  1. Soak red-pepper flakes in lime juice 4 minutes. Add the garlic, sugar, and fish sauce; stir until sugar is dissolved.
