Honeydew Cocktail

A cocktail worthy of Fred Astaire -- honeydew, lime juice, mint, and vodka, whirred in a blender and poured over crushed ice.

  • Servings: 6

  • 1 large honeydew melon, seeds and rind removed, cut into large chunks
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 6 mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup superfine sugar
  • 1/2 cup vodka, (optional)
  • 1 cup crushed ice

  1. Place melon, lime juice, mint, sugar, and vodka in a bar blender. Blend until smooth, about 45 seconds. Pour through a cheesecloth-lined strainer into a pitcher.

  2. Place ice in 12-ounce glasses; pour liquid over ice. Swizzle and serve.

Cook's Notes

Substitute gin, white rum, or even champagne for the vodka if desired.
