A cocktail worthy of Fred Astaire -- honeydew, lime juice, mint, and vodka, whirred in a blender and poured over crushed ice.

- 1 large honeydew melon, seeds and rind removed, cut into large chunks
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 6 mint leaves
- 1/4 cup superfine sugar
- 1/2 cup vodka, (optional)
- 1 cup crushed ice
Place melon, lime juice, mint, sugar, and vodka in a bar blender. Blend until smooth, about 45 seconds. Pour through a cheesecloth-lined strainer into a pitcher.
Place ice in 12-ounce glasses; pour liquid over ice. Swizzle and serve.
