Easter Place Setting Idea: A Tiny Nest of Candy Chicks

Nestled inside these shredded paper nests is a sweet surprise! Turn Easter candy into baby chicks and decorated eggs.

  • Easter candy eggs

  • Candy decorating pens

  • Edible gold metallic food paint

  • Small-tip paintbrush

steps

  1. Prepare the egg drying rack per the instructions in the link above.

  2. To decorate the candy eggs with gold, use a small tip paintbrush and metallic food paint. Make stripes, squiggles, and polka dots. Let dry on rack.

  3. To transform a candy egg into a chick, use the candy decorating pens to paint two dotted eyes with black, then use orange to make a beak, and add extra details.

  4. Shape the shredded Easter grass into a birds nest per the instructions in the link above.

  5. Place the nest at the center of each place setting on top of a folded napkin. Once they have dried, add decorated candy eggs to nest.
