Get Up Early
You know the saying: "The early bird catches the worm." Rising with the sun gives you time to mentally prepare for your day -- and get it all done. People who are chronically late tend to underestimate the amount of time it takes them to complete tasks. The result? You show up everywhere frazzled and slightly unprepared. To avoid this, you need to overestimate the amount of time an activity (i.e. shower, workout, etc.) will take you to complete. You'll start showing up five minutes early to everything and suddenly look (and feel) like the most put-together person in the room.
Make the Bed
How many times did your mother ask you to make the bed in the morning? Leaving the house with an unkempt bed is like leaving the house with only half your makeup on -- don't do it! Give yourself five extra minutes in the morning to tuck in your sheets, pull up your duvet, and arrange your pillows. You won't believe how accomplished you'll feel! And you'll feel even more awesome when you come home in the evening to a freshly made bed. On that note: Wash your sheets at least once a week, even if no one else knows it. Put-together people do not just do things for show, they do it for themselves.
Set Up a Home Bar
How many times have you gone over to a friend's place and they poured you a glass of wine or a yummy cocktail as soon as you walked in the door? If you thought, "Ugh... I wish I was that awesome," we're here to say you can be! It's possible to set up a beautiful and functional home bar in just a few steps. The next time a friend comes over to chat or have dinner, be awesome and pour them an inviting cocktail.
Conquer Your Closet
It's time... Take a Saturday or a weekend and truly, truly clean out your closet. Purge the clothes you no longer wear and organize the ones you do. Constantly shoving things into your closet fosters a sense of urgency in your home (which is so not put-together!). Organize your closet into a place of calm, and just imagine all the time you'll save not digging around for things. The next time you open the closet, you'll be overwhelmed with the feeling that -- YES! -- you are, in fact, a person who has her stuff in order.
Tackle Your Health
Making Y-O-U time every day or every few days is the only way to stay in touch with your well-being. Eat the right foods for you, get at least 30 minutes of exercise every day, and check in with yourself to make sure your health is at its peak. Are you constantly feeling bloated? Find out why! Are you experiencing any pain? Headaches? Fatigue? Get at the source before you cram another hour of work into your day and exasperate the problem. Don't let it hang over your head like a stressful to-do. Optimizing your health is a core aspect of aligning your life -- check it off the list!
