Cream Cheese Frosting for Margarita Cupcakes
The frosting can be made up to one day ahead and refrigerated. Bring back to room temperature and re-beat until smooth before using.

- 12 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
Using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese, butter and sour cream on medium-high until smooth and combined, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in sugar a few tablespoons at a time.
