Customize a Teapot with Chalkboard Paint

Tea time! It's easy to turn a plain teapot into chic and useful serveware with chalkboard paint.

  • Martha Stewart Crafts Chalkboard Paint in Beetle Black

  • Martha Stewart Crafts Acrylic Craft Paint in Cloud

  • Martha Stewart Crafts paintbrushes

  • Ceramic teapot

  • Chalk


  1. Remove the lid from the pot and paint the lid with two coats of Martha Stewart Crafts paint in Cloud.

  2. Paint two layers of chalkboard paint on the teapot.

  3. Once chalkboard paint is dry, rub a piece of chalk over the teapot and wipe off with a paper towel to condition the chalkboard surface.

  4. Using chalk, label your teapot with the name of whatever tea you are serving.
