At the book’s official launch at New York City’s Union Square Barnes & Noble, I joined acclaimed chef, Geoffrey Zakarian, for a casual and very informative conversation about the book, restaurants and entertaining, and how the dining experience has changed over the years.
In fact, Food52.com posted bits of the conversation on its blog. Be sure to click on the following link: it’s very funny!
It was a busy day of appearances around New York City.
This week, I attended a wonderful event honoring the iconic fashion designer and founder of his self-named high-end shoe brand, Manolo Blahnik. The Couture Council of The Museum at FIT presented Manolo with its 2015 Artistry of Fashion award.
Later that same day, I went to Tavern on the Green, where another large crowd gathered to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Jessica Simpson’s brand collection.
And, that night, I visited the Bravo studios in downtown Manhattan for an appearance on “Watch What Happens LIVE,” hosted by Andy Cohen.
Here I am with Manolo Blahnik.

During the break at my appearance "Watch What Happens LIVE," Andy let me try his signature Fresquila cocktail: tequila and Fresca with a squeeze of lime. I guess Andy hoped it would become my new favorite drink!

I brought a copy of my latest book, "Appetizers," to give to Andy.
I took a fun trip to an historic Philadelphia, Pennsylvania department store building, to promote my latest book “Appetizers” - which is available right now - here’s a link to purchase the book, “Appetizers”.
Earlier this week, I visited the original location of the first Wanamaker’s department store. Macy’s now occupies a portion of the multi-floored building. It was a beautiful space to visit - I even got to sit at the Grand Court Organ designed by George Ashdown Audsley.
Here I am with members of the Center City Macy's sales associates team.

They let me play the organ -- or at least take a photo of me sitting at the keyboards. How fun!

After the book signing, I signed many books.

Last week, I hosted a company party at Cantitoe Corners, my farm in Bedford. About 200 employees from Martha Stewart Living, and from our partner companies, the Meredith Corporation and Sequential Brands, attended the event.
I opened my gardens, and set up games to play on the party lawn. I also invited some of my favorite local restaurants to cater the party. Everyone had the chance to walk around and meet my pets.
Everyone enjoyed the day, and time spent with friends.

One of many group shots of some of the guests- my front porch steps are a great place to take such big photos.

It’s late summer, and lots of regular maintenance has been going on at the farm.
Supporting a working farm is a lot of work. In order for it to thrive, animals and gardens need constant tender loving care. Here at my Bedford farm, we keep a running list of all the chores that need to be done at any given time, so it always looks and functions at its best.
