DIY Reusable Coffee-Cup Sleeve

For all you coffee lovers out there who like your coffee on the go, here's a way you can save a lot of trees. A DIY reusable coffee sleeve made from felt is easy to make so you don't have to use the disposable paper ones to protect your hand from the hot cup.

Materials

- Felt

- Scissors

- Rickrack or ribbon

- Embroidery thread

- Glue

- Sewing needle and thread, or sewing machine

-Paper coffee sleeve (use one to save hundreds!)

Step 1:

Open a paper coffee sleeve and trace the shape onto your felt. Then cut out the sleeve shape from the felt.

Step 2:

Pin the rickrack or ribbon to the front of sleeve.

Step 3:

Sew the rickrack or ribbon to the sleeve by hand or use a sewing machine.

Step 4:

Wrap the felt sleeve around a paper coffee cup and adjust it for sizing. Make sure it's snug. Pin the sleeve ends together to hold them in place.

Step 5:

Sew the sleeve ends together with an over stitch.

 

Now your coffee sleeve is done! Carry it with you in your purse, knapsack or pocket, so next time you buy a coffee, it's ready to use. This will help you be kind to trees and make a small difference every day!
