Lacing Cards

Toddlers will love “sewing” these animal cards, and they’ll develop hand-eye coordination as well.

materials

  • Pencil

  • Card stock

  • Scissors

  • Hole punch

  • Yarn (or shoelace)

  • Clear nail polish or fabric glue

steps

  1. Enlarge shapes on a copier to 275 percent; cut out.

  2. Trace onto card stock; cut out. Punch a hole every 1 inch around perimeter.

  3. If using yarn, cut a 36-inch piece and knot one end. To stiffen yarn so it threads easily through holes, apply clear nail polish or fabric glue to loose end.
