Colorful Thermoses

Hit the hiking trail this weekend, but don't forget to bring this DIY thermos inspired by July's Mad About Color palette from Martha Stewart Crafts.

Materials

  • Martha Stewart Crafts paint in Summer Linen, Scallion, Wild Salmon, Pesto, Love Bird, and Marmalade
  • Martha Stewart Crafts Large Brush Set
  • Martha Stewart Crafts Glazing Medium

Steps

  1. Step 1

Base coat your metal thermoses with one or two coats of Summer Linen paint.

  2. Step 2

For the ombre-green-striped thermos, start with Pesto and mix a little bit of glazing medium into the paint. Paint a stripe using the brush size of your choice from the large brush set and paint stripe. Continue painting stripes as shown, adding a little Scallion into the paint little by little until you reach your desired color.

  3. Step 3

For the vertically striped thermos, mix a little glazing medium into Wild Salmon, Scallion, and Marmalade paints. Paint loose vertical stripes as shown in a repeating pattern.

  4. Step 4

For the round dot thermos, mix a little glazing medium into Wild Salmon, Scallion, Marmalade, Love Bird, and Pesto paints. Loosely paint circles in a random pattern all around the thermos as shown.
