materials

  • 1-inch double-face cotton sateen ribbon

  • Chalk pencil

  • Needle and thread

steps

  1. Cut a length of ribbon that wraps around your wrist 3 times and ties in a bow. We used 40 inches of 1-inch-wide double-face cotton sateen ribbon; pick a substanial ribbon to support the weight of charms.

  2. Prepare 20 charms using the Cutting Flat Shapes technique, ranging from 1/2 inch to 2 inches in assorted colors with 2 holes for attaching to ribbon; make a few small ones with 1 hole.

  3. Have a friend help wrap and tie the ribbon.

  4. Use chalk pencil to mark areas to fill with charms; do not place any on the bottom of the wrist where ribbon ties.

  5. Remove ribbon, lay out shapes, stitch on a few, retie, and determine if you need more charms; let some ribbon show.
