These "hamburgers" of Jamaica are found on every corner in towns throughout the country. Prepared by few Jamaicans at home, patties are usually enjoyed as an on-the-go treat. Yet they are simple and economical to make. Keep some uncooked in the freezer, and then bake them (for about fifteen minutes) as you need them. You can make them smaller to serve as appetizers.
