Leprechaun Trap Ladder

This glittering gold ladder goes with the free printable leprechaun trap from SVG Cuts created Mary and Leo Kowal. Photos by Leo Kowal. 

Materials

  • Small craft handsaw
  • 1/8-inch dowel, at least 7 1/2 inches long
  • 1/4-inch square balsa wood dowel, at least 14 inches long
  • Multi-Surface Metallic Acrylic Craft Paint in Yellow Gold by Martha Stewart Crafts
  • Multi-Surface Glitter Acrylic Craft Paint in Florentine Gold by Martha Stewart Crafts
  • Wood or craft glue
  • Small paintbrush

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Cut the thicker wooden dowels into 2 six-inch-long pieces, and lightly sand the ends if necessary.

    Cut the thinner wooden dowels into five 1 1/2-inch long segments.

    Mark five evenly spaced dots with a pencil to designate where each rung will be inserted.

  4. Step 4

    Use one of the rungs to gently create indents for each rung.

  5. Step 5

    Add a small dot of glue inside each indent and then carefully assemble the ladder and allow to dry.

    Carefully paint using gold and gold glitter paints.

    Set up ladder with finished leprechaun trap.

    I had so much fun making this project the Leprechaun Trap . It was easy to do, directions are easy to follow. I did use Martha's medium Punch - Branch to create the border around the house. Added some silk flowers. I used Paint on the ladder which really worked great. I used toothpicks for the steps.
    I look forward to seeing more projects by Mary and Leo of SVGCUTS.Com. Thank you Martha for having them do this.
