Spicy Papaya Sunrise

Tropical and juicy, this healthy punch offers vitamins A and C. Jalapeno delivers more than a spicy kick: Anti-inflammatory carotenoids give the pepper its bright red skin.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup diced papaya
  • 1 cup diced watermelon
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 red jalapeno (sliced; seeded if desired to reduce heat)
  • Ice
  • Slice of lime
  • Slice of jalapeno

Cook's Note

Spike It: Stir 1 ounce blanco or anejo tequila, such as Casa Noble Crystal, into the juice. This organically produced liquor is triple-distilled for a pure agave flavor.

Directions

  1. Step 1

    Puree papaya, watermelon, lime juice, and 1/2 jalapeno in a blender until smooth. Strain and chill. Serve over ice and garnish with a slice each of lime and jalapeno.
