Baked Tofu

  • yield: Makes 16 slabs

Ingredients

  • 14-oz package drained firm tofu
  • 2 Tbsp tamari
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper

Cook's Note

Refrigerate tofu in an airtight container up to 3 days.

Directions

  1. Step 1

    Press tofu for 20 minutes. Slice into 1/4-inch-thick slabs and transfer to a large bowl.

  2. Step 2

    Whisk together tamari and oil and season with salt and pepper.

  3. Step 3

    Drizzle dressing over tofu and marinate 20 minutes, tossing occasionally.

  4. Step 4

    Heat oven to 350 degrees. Arrange tofu on an oiled baking sheet and bake 10 minutes. Flip and bake 30 minutes more. Let cool.

    glad I read the review by dominike..... cooked 10 min then cut the 30 min down to 15 min and it was great. First time cooking tofu for me.

    Is it possible the baking time is wrong?
    10 and then 30 minutes? It was overcooked.
    Could it be 10 and 10 minutes?
