Photography: Stephen Johnson

  • 6 burger buns
  • 1 1/4 pounds peeled, deveined shrimp
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Iceberg lettuce
  • Tartar sauce

  1. Step 1

Finely grind 2 burger buns in a food processor (1 1/2 cups crumbs) and transfer to a bowl. Pulse shrimp in processor, then toss with crumbs, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 patties. Melt butter in a skillet and cook over medium, turning once, until cooked through, about 9 minutes. Serve on buns with lettuce and tartar sauce.

Very moreish and so simple to make. I did wonder if there was a better alternative to mayonnaise to bind as they were very rich when coupled with the tartare sauce. Would still recommend.

Totally awesome and easy recipe. The shrimp burgers taste succulent and are a real treat. Will make these again and again.
