How to Throw a Craft Party
"Have you ever had a craft party?" asks blogger Jenny Batt from Hank & Hunt. "These types of parties are popping up more and more, and are a great idea for a holiday open house. What better way to grab a moment with your friends than to host an open afternoon, where they can stop by unannounced and pop in for drinks and delicious treats and get a head start on their holiday decorating?"
See the photos from Jenny's party that she threw with the help of Martha Stewart at The Home Depot, and start planning your own gathering.

Jenny offers fun and festive ideas to create inviting party decor.
"Grab your bar cart and set it with drinks on top and crafts on the bottom. Bring the outdoors in with a fresh bouquet of pine and add some holiday plaid."

What to Serve
Hungry guests need something to nibble on as they work on a holiday project, so Jenny served baked Brie with pecans, which is a satisfying mix of flavors and textures.

What to Sip
Jenny's guests enjoyed crisp apple brandy and cider cocktails, which pairs nicely with the baked Brie with pecans.

The craft of choice is a hanging illuminated star. Required materials for this project are the Martha Stewart Living color light set, white cable ties, and wooden dowels.
"Creating a simple illuminated star to hang outside (or in) is a great quick DIY that even noncrafters can participate in. Organize your supplies and tie with pretty ribbon."

Arrange five of the thin wooden dowels in the shape of a star (as pictured). Secure the end points and crossover points with a cable tie. Cut off the loose end.

Add the Lights
Once the star is assembeled, attach the Martha Stewart Living color light set along the wooden dowels and fasten with cable ties. Make sure the light plug is at the end of one of the star's points.

A Star Is Born
The illuminated star adds a rustic, jubilant feel to holiday decor, and Jenny was excited to share a day of crafting with her guests.
"A simple craft party is easy and your guests will leave with warm hearts and something to hang when they get home -- a perfect afternoon."
