materials

  • Glycerin soap base

  • Microwave-safe 4-cup glass measuring cup

  • Food coloring

  • Essential oils (optional)

  • Silicone baking mold or metal muffin tin

  • Spray bottle

  • Rubbing alcohol

steps

  1. Cut glycerin into cubes; place in measuring cup. Heat in microwave for 30 seconds; stir. Repeat until smooth throughout.

  2. Tint with 8 to 10 drops of food coloring. Stir to mix thoroughly. For scent, sparingly stir in essential oils.

  3. Pour glycerin into mold. To minimize bubbles on top, use spray bottle to spritz surface with alcohol. Let sit 4 hours. (If using a metal tin, put in freezer.) Remove from mold.
