Fique fiber, in White and Yellow, $9.50 for 170 yd.,


  • 1 skein fique fiber

  • Scrap in contrasting color

  • Crochet hook, size F


  1. Chain-stitch 32.

  2. Row 1: Treble-crochet into fifth chin stitch from hook, then treble-crochet across row. Chain-stitch 4; turn.

  3. Continue in treble crochet until you have worked 11 rows. Work should measure 7 1/2 inches.

  4. Double-crochet around border, with 4 stitches in each treble row, working 2 double crochets into each corner stitch. For last edge, change to a contrast color if desired, and double-crochet across.

  5. At end of last edge, chain 8 and stitch into last stitch to form a loop. Reinforce loop by singlecrocheting into chain.

  6. Snip and weave in ends.
