Painted Pumpkins

For a quick, no-carve frontporch display, paint a bunch of small pumpkins in rich reds, purples, and golds.

Multi-Surface satin finish acrylic paint, by Martha Stewart Crafts, $2 for 2 oz.,

  • Craft brush
  • White craft paint
  • Pumpkins
  • Colored craft paint
  • Pressed leaves

  1. Step 1

Start by priming each one with white acrylic paint; let dry.

  2. Step 2

Then paint each pumpkin with a coat of your color of choice. Pressed leaves can be painted with one coat, too.

  3. Step 3

After they’ve dried, arrange the leaves underneath the pumpkins on a mantle or bench, as shown.
